In person and online therapy in Stoke Newington.
Perhaps things feel too big, perhaps too small, perhaps you have no idea where to start. I will hold a space where all of this is welcome, indeed where this is honoured as part of the experience as we find a way through together. See below to get a sense of how I work and email to book a free consultation call if it sounds like it may be of interest.

I have experience working with a number of different concerns, including; loss of many kinds, low self esteem, anxiety, relationship issues including sex and intimacy, self harm, loneliness, identity, intrusive thoughts, eating disorders and disordered eating, trauma.

Perhaps one of the above relates to what is going on for you, perhaps none do. Either way is fine and either way I am interested not in categories but in the unique way you experience this.

How I work
Trained in an integration of psychodynamic, humanistic and existential approaches I draw primarily on existential thought in my practice. This approach doesn't seek to pathologise or medicalise suffering but recognises and honours it as part of the immense challenge of human experience. Here we ask how might we live amongst this, how might we live with others, what is a meaningful life for us. To me it is a therapy which places emphasis on possibility, freedom and choice within a deeply caring, deeply human, therapeutic relationship.

As part of this approach I will invite you to describe past and present experiences and offer a particular kind of attention and engagement - seeking not to explain or theorise but to go closer and closer into your experience and see what may reveal itself. Creating deep insights about self and opening up possibilities for living.

Existential psychotherapy is an approach which views the therapist-client relationship as a very real human one. I see that we have quite a unique opportunity - in a relationship of safety and care - to explore what happens between us; which in my experience (as both a client and therapist) can be of great value in our work.

We can then work towards an ending when you feel ready. This being said I am happy to discuss with you financial / other constraints on our work and explore how we move forward with our ending in mind.
